We were in Tokyo, Japan for the last 11 days.. I will post more pics from our trip in the next few days.. but first, let me wish you the happiest most blessed new year ahead!
After all, if you add all the numbers in “1st of January 2015” they all added up to a perfect 10. 🙂
Here is a photo of Key Bubblie posing with some mementos from Tokyo Disneyland as he got back home in Bubbliapolis. Note that Mickey has been fashioned to resemble a Daruma doll. (These pieces feature exact packaging, front: Mickey Daruma, back: Minnie).
Japanese custom has it that a Daruma doll is generally used to help set one on track to reach a specific goal. One eye is usually kept blank/white for owner/s to fill/draw on it when the goal has been reached. On these particular ones, the Mickey Daruma has eyeballs which are not completely black. Each of the eyeball has a slice of white (like Minnie’s). I suppose, these pieces are loose interpretation of the Daruma custom and one is supposed to just close up the little gaps when goal has been reached?
Anyhow, let’s enjoy the new year with great hope that in 2015, with hard work, kindness and ingenuity many more days will be a perfect 10 and more of our goals will be reached! 😉
